Mr. Paternoster graduated the Llandaff Maritime College in 1984 and thereafter attended Plymouth University where in 1987 he graduated with a BSc Honours Degree in Ship Management and Naval Architecture. His seagoing career began from 1979 until 1990 from Apprentice Deck Officer to Chief Mate where he served with Shell Tankers UK Ltd., onboard VLCCs, lightening vessels and LNG carriers.
Mr. Paternoster then embarked on a career in the Law as Senior Casualty Consultant for major international maritime law firms i.e. Hill Taylor Dickenson, Holman Fenwick & Willan, Watson Farely & Williams and Ince & Co., at offices in London, Hong Kong and Greece.
While in Greece, Mr. Paternoster had joined a traditional and reputable ship owning company and became General Manager for the daytoday running of a fleet of dry bulk carriers for a number of years. Mr. Paternoster then continued to act as an Independent Consultant for some time and then was recruited by TriBulk Shipping as Chief Executive Officer. The company was a startup ship management company which owned dry bulk carriers and charteredin vessels as an operator.
